UniverCities together with the European Cultural Foundation, is organising the CrAFting DivAirCity: co-creating inclusive climate-neutral cities live lab event, to be held during the European Week of Regions and Cities, on the 10th of October 2024, from 11:30 to 13:00 CET, at the Albert Borschette Conference Centre in Brussels.
The event’s main theme will be on regions strengthening European Democracy, within the context of two EU-funded projects DivAirCity under the Horizon 2020 call, and CrAFt under Horizon Europe.
The session will focus on ensuring that co-creation is fit-for-all in terms of time, place and pace to develop environmentally sustainable cities for all. This lab begins with a panel of practitioners, local authorities, and EU representatives discussing inclusive and innovative processes. A practical session will follow, in which participants will share best practices, policy advice, and tools to engage citizens.
UniverCities will be represented by its president, Daniela Melandri, who will also acts as the strategic coordinator for DivAirCity and the moderator of the event. The other speakers coming are Magali Thompson from the Equilibrium Network (DivAirCity partner), Maciej Hofman from the European Cultural Foundation, Noemí Elena Julián Villar from the Foundation for Urban Innovation and Laura Hetel from the DG Research and Innovation at the European Commission.
Register for the event here by September 30th (limited seats available): https://regions-and-cities.europa.eu/programme/2024/sessions/35133
